Every word in the Bible is from God (II Timothy 3:16-17- All scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly
furnished unto all good works
.). We are to use the Bible to rightly discern what is
from God and what is from man (II Timothy 2:14-15-
Of these things put them in
remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words of
no profit, but to the subverting of the hearts. Study to show thyself approved unto
God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of
truth
.). There are so many doctrines and beliefs that exist in the world today. The
Bible is the only tool we have to test for the truth and it’s the only tool that we
need. God tells us to study His word diligently that we might know His will from
the will of men (I Timothy 4:13-
Till I come, give attendance to reading, to
exhortation, to doctrine
).

The Lord warns us of those who would change His word by taking away from it or
by adding to it (Revelation 22:18-19-
For I testify unto every man that heareth the
words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God
shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall
take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, god shall take away his
part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are
written in this book
). God hides nothing from us by giving everything to us. We
must have Bible authority for all that we speak, think, and do; otherwise, it is all in
vain (Matthew 15:9-
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the
commandments of men
). God does not want fence-straddlers. Either you are 100%
for God or your 100% against Him (Revelation 3:15-16-
I know thy works, that
thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou
art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth
). You
must obey His whole Word not just in part.

I challenge all those who claim that want to serve the Lord and receive
everlasting life. This is something that you can do quickly with just some topics of
interest that you have now or you can do this over your lifetime as you continue in
your studies. Take a piece of paper and write down everything that you think that
you know about the Bible or salvation or even God in general. As you study, keep
this paper handy so that as you come across topics or events in the Bible, you can
check if the Bible teaches the same thing that you have written down as your
beliefs (I Thessalonians 5:21-
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good). If
they are the same then you know that you are right. If they differ, then you know
that you are, of course, in error. You must always question everything religious
that you hear someone say. Make them show you where it can be found in the
Bible. And make sure that this person uses the Word of God and not some man’s
variation of it. The Bible teaches that there are more that will spend an eternity in
hell than those that will make it to heaven (Matthew 7:13-14-
Enter ye in at the
strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction,
and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is
the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it
). This is because so
many refuse to fully obey God (Matthew 7:21-
Not every one that saith unto me,
Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of
my Father which is in heaven
). Remember: Every individual is responsible for
their own soul. Wouldn’t you want to be sure?
